Editorial Review:

Product Description:

If God is love, why are so many Christians fearful, and why do so many church leaders sound hateful? Two controversial pastors address issues the church won't face, calling us to restore grace as the center of the Christian life.

o In If Grace Is True, Pastors Philip Gulley and James Mulholland revealed their belief that God will save every person. They now explore the implications of this belief, and its power to change every area of our lives. They attempt to answer one question: If we took God's love seriously, what would our world look like?

Gulley and Mulholland argue that what we believe is crucial and dramatically affects the way we live and interact in the world. Beliefs have power. The belief in a literal hell where people suffer eternally has often been used by the Church to justify hate and violence, which contradicts what Jesus taught about love and grace. The authors present a new vision for our personal, religious, and corporate lives, exploring what our world would be like if we based our existence on the foundational truth that God loves every person.

Gulley and Mulholland boldly address many controversial issues people in the pews have wondered about but churches have been unwilling to tackle. For too long, the Christian tradition has been steeped in negativity, exclusion, and judgment. Gulley and Mulholland usher us into a new age––an age where grace and love are allowed to reign.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Stop fighting the Love
This is one of my favorite books! It pushes and challenges us all to open ourselves to the unconditional love that the Divine offers every person; the only thing holding us back from experiencing that love is....us! Building on the belief that hell will be empty, "If God is Love" is exactly what needs to be read by so many who would seek to use their beliefs to condemn and marginalize others. This book expresses my central belief that all are worthy of love. Stop fighting the Love for yourself ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - God indeed is LOVE
One of the best books I ever read. Many struggle with the question why God being so merciful creates so many disasters and diseases especially to Good people. At least for me it is very clear these nature things are nothing to do with God. When we say Love, it has to be free, absolutely with No constraints. God purposely has given the free will. No freedom means no Love. He could have taken the control and granted us whatever wish we had, but He had to restrain Himself just for the sake of our freedom. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Liberating
This book has brought me back to Christianity at a time when I thought that I would never have anything to do with it again. I've always tried really hard to be a good person, but I didn't understand that I was doing it out of fear rather than love until I read this book. I feel liberated from the burden of original sin, something that I thought I no longer believed in, but was carrying around anyway for more than 30 years. I have a better appreciation of the importance of Jesus' teachings and how, by ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great book
Well written and easy to read. This book expands further on the ideas presented in If Grace is True. Presents ideas on universalism and unconditional love from God in a very down to earth format. Easy to relate to the stories and ideas in this book. Good on it's own but I would recommend reading If Grace is True with it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Incredible book; Uplifting; Hopeful
This book arrived quickly and was in perfect condition.
I highly recommend this book (and the other by the authors: If Grace is True)for anyone searching to understand God and his unconditional love and grace. While I don't agree with all the ideas in this book, it sure got me to thinking about things and people in a different way. A gentler, more nonjudgmental, loving way. Definitely a refreshing change from the fire and brimstone approach (fear, fear, fear, sin, sin, sin) of some churches and ... Read More
