Everyone wants to be popular—or at least, Stephanie Landry does. Steph's been the least popular girl in her class since a certain cherry Super Big Gulp catastrophe five years earlier. Does being popular matter? It matters a lot—to Steph. That's why this year, she has a plan to get in with the It Crowd in no time flat. She's got a secret weapon: an old book called—what else?—How to Be Popular. All Steph has to do is follow the instructions in The Book, and soon she'll be partying with the popular kids (including school quarterback Mark Finley) instead of sitting on The Hill Saturday nights, stargazing with her nerdy best pal Becca, and even nerdier Jason (now kind of hot, but still). But don't forget the most important thing about popularity! It's easy to become popular. What isn't so easy? Staying that way. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Thanks!12 y/o had look at a copy a friend had and wanted her own to read - she enjoys it - thanks! Rating: - Not her bestBut I still liked it a lot. I just felt more bad things could of happened to keep me on the edge. It wasn't boring persay, but it deffinatley could of been stronger. This is proably her worst book and i've read all but two except for her Princess Diaries Series. This is her worst and its still 4 stars, and that says something. Her best book is Avalon High. all the books in between are amazing! Read 'em all! Rating: - Not My Favorite but Good!I liked the book alot...I now want to read more of Meg's books. I think you have to be into girly books to read it. I recommended it to my best friend and she loved it. Rating: - The Compulsive Reader's ReviewsSteph Landry certainly wouldn't be classified as popular. The entire popular group at school hates her for something that was an accident. Her mom isn't too awful happy with her right now due to the fact that she's still talking to her grandfather, who sold land to developers, thus putting the family business in jeopardy. But Steph's determination to be well liked is in full throttle when she finds a book with detailed instructions on how to become popular. But it might get her more than she bargained ... Read More Rating: - Cute by nothing memorableI am a big fan of Meg Cabot's adult books, and a couple of her YA. I read How to be Popular looking for some light, entertaining reading. It was alright, not bad, but not anything that kept making me want to read. It wasn't a total waste of time, but had I known what it would be like, I probably would have skipped it. After having read Geek High and especially Cindy Ella, this book paled in comparison. In association with Amazon.com | |
