This series helps you to learn in the context of real patients instead of simply memorizing. Case Files: Pharmacology: Second Edition presents 55 clinical cases with open-ended questions which weave basic science concepts into the clinical scenario. Each case includes an extended discussion (including definitions and a pathophysiology discussion), key points, and 3-5 USMLE-style comprehension questions. The authors are experienced teachers from the University of Texas-Houston Medical School in Houston, Texas. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Great Prep for USMLEDon't neglect anatomy for Step 1! Case file organizes the huge subject to clinically relevant vignettes. All i needed to know for the boards was in this book! Easy and quick read as well. Rating: - Useful USMLE PrepThis book has been helpful in my USMLE preparation due to the case-based format, high yield emphasis, and the anatomical pearls. However, this book was poorly edited -- there are numerous errors in the text, mislabelled diagrams, etc. If you plan to use this book, have an anatomy atlas at your side, so that you can have a second source for accuracy. Rating: - Excellent anatomy reviewThis is a succinct, carefully chosen set of cases and accompanying pearls, questions, and illustrations. At a time when medical schools are cutting back on hours of anatomic instruction, a source like this will be of value to medical students and residents alike. Highly recommended!
