Product Description:

The official guide from the makers of the TOEFL to ensure your exam success!

The Official Guide to the TOEFL® iBT is the leading guide to the most widely accepted English-language proficiency test in the world--the TOEFL test. Written by ETS, the makers of the test, this book includes two real full-length TOEFL tests for practice, as well as explanations of every section of the test and information on what is expected of you for every speaking and writing task. You will learn how to construct your answers and integrate the four skills needed to demonstrate academic English-language proficiency: reading, listening, speaking and writing. The accompanying CD-ROM provides on-screen interactive versions of both real TOEFL tests in the book, just like the one you will encounter on test day.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - good guide to toefl
Its a good book if you are looking for something to encourage you. but if you are really weak in English then go for something else. This book is more like an information guide to TOEFL.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - i'm glad
I'm glad from the service. the shipping took a lot of time (since I ordered by normal shipping) but it came earlier than I expected.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - So-so
You may throw off about 200 pages of this book, because this information is available free of charge on the official TOEFL web-site (tips for TOEFL). Furthermore, every person registered for the test gets a sampler free of charge. In this book this sampler is given for practice exercises. Overall, the book just describes what the test it and doesn't give any strategy. The software of the disk leaves much to be desired and there are mistakes in the answers. The advantage of the book is that it is ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Doesn't teach HOW
I've been teaching TOEFL preparation classes with this book, and for that it is TERRIBLE. There aren't enough examples, and there's no practical or useful advise on HOW to take the test. Most of the book is just text describing the test question, a lot of which is stuff you would figure out on your own by simply looking at the test. Other books actually offer practice and exercises. There are NO exercises in this book outside of a few sample questions, and there are only three examples of each speaking ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good overview book
It is good enough for overviewing what the iBT is. I have been living in North America for over 10 years, I need this book just for a guide to prepare the test. If you are looking for a book to study, may not be a good choice. Since the real test seemed a little bit harder than the book, at least my test was. (took on Jan.16, 2010)
