Editorial Review: Product Description: Almost one million people around the world suffer from kidney disease and owe their lives to dialysis or transplantation. Each year in the UK, nearly 10,000 people enter end-stage kidney failure. However over the past 20 years the prospects for treatment and survival have dramatically improved thanks to medical advances. This book has been specially written for these patients and their families. After explaining the causes and symptons of kidney failure, the various treatment options are considered, in particular dialysis and transplantations. Throughout, the book aims to help patients understand how this disease and its treatment will affect them, and to answer many commonly asked questions. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Good summary of various kidney diseases and treatmentsEven though I am non-specialist in a field of nephrology, this book is not too difficult to read and understand. Also, this book has summarized various kidney diseases and respective treatment very well. But, as for the section of transplant, I think this kind of book should provide more information as like as the immunosuppress drugs which are under development. I beleive hope is the best therapy for patients with chronic diseases. In association with Amazon.com | |
