In this first book in the series, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampire--that is, if she makes it through the Change. Not all of those who are chosen do. It’s tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite club, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny--with a little help from her new vampyre friends. I read it after her and was horrified by what she had read without my knowing so I have to go into ... Read More Rating: - MarkedThis Book Is Not For Young Teens!!! I think it should be Rated R! The story is very good, but the laungauge is horrible, I can not believe it was written for young teens. Parents Be Aware Of What Your Children Are Reading! I was Appalled!!!! Rating: - THIS is not TWILIGHTI"m a huge vampire fan and really enjoy reading how teen books handle it. This book is NOT like Twilight so if that is what you're looking for, look else were. This book is something that puts a new twist on the undead, which I found a little refreshing. I think Zoey is a strong female character who I falls victim of making teenage mistakes while tackling adult problems. The book really hammers the idea of loyalty alot which is a strength of the book. The weakness for me (and for ALL ... Read More Rating: - Vampire sexyThis book was great!
