![]() Rating: - NREMT-P review of PHTLS (good)this is a great book about trauma.. its great for reviewing pt assessment skills and basic trauma plus burn care.. couple other guys has complained that the book doesn't cover IVs or intubation enough.. or show detailed pictures of these skills.. if you need these skilled showed to you.. then maybe you should have the P removed from after your name. Advanced Life Support Skills from Brady is a good book for reviewing ALS skills.. but this is a great book for reviewing trauma. I'd buy a newer version ... Read More Rating: - Good book, bad DVDThe book is interesting, well written and has excellent graphics. The DVD is of much less quality and of questionable value. I really did not like the "Rapid Trauma Assessment" and the "Non-Critical Trauma Assessment". They left out steps, the audio quality was horrible and the providers seemed almost bored with the scenario. It was probably the worst assessment video I have ever seen! Rating: - Much better than the Brady Vol. 4 Trauma Care!Yes, this is a much, much better book relating to trauma care than the Brady Paramedic series Volume 4 Trauma Care! As with the Mosby books, prefer them over many of the Brady Books. As for the PHTLS book, the photos, diagrams, charts, etc., are way more professional looking. All of the information is laid out and organized in a much better format and easier to follow along with. I can't always say the same for the Brady book. I wished my paramedic class would have used this book over the Brady Trauma ... Read More Rating: - PHTLS reviewA good supplement for learning experience. Interesting background information at the start. Good details in the text, review questions that work, & scenarios at the beginning of ea chapter with solution at the end. Aimed at learning not at just passing the EMT exam. Good detailed information with the DVD backing up each skill described. There are a lot of good diagrams backed up with actual photographs of injuries with treatment. Well thought out instructions in each chapter, from single incidence to ... Read More Rating: - PreHospital TLSExcellent book. Well organized, direct and practical. Fairly easy to read and the approach is very interesting. We have used some of the techiques described, and all have been effective. Worth the money and its a good way to improve/expand your skills. Glenn R.Schirg, EMT In association with Amazon.com | |
