Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not bad, but not great
If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would. I bought this book to have a single book I could study from during breaks or while away from home. It's good for just that, but it is by no means complete. It has served me as a good introductory text for some subjects that I find a little harder to approach, such as biochemistry. After reading these sections of the book, I was able to study from other sources more easily. However, if you master certain subjects and come back to this book, you'll find it absolutely ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The new secret to doing well in med school!
I didn't know about this book until late second year in med school---- but I wish I had! I was hesitant to buy this, as some of you out there may be since there's only two reviews so far--- but let me tell you!! Don't let that fool you!

This book is great---- it's really an easy read, and I totally recommend this for using during second year of medical school and as a "break" during hardcore boards studying.

It's different from the traditional review books--- it doesn't cover every ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This book is 10 STARS!!!
With the Second Edition of this book by Brown & Brown, this book is THOROUGH and COMPLETE. It has gone from being a supplementary text to now being a PREMIER review book (which has been the authors' intention). An enjoyable and amazing review book for Step 1. Simply Amazing! Hats off to the authors, including the 17+ Darthmouth med students for a job well done!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pretty good book, but NOT the sole resource...
This book was great to read when sick of looking at First Aid. It concentrates more about the 'why' than the 'what,' which is what First Aid tests. Wish I would have had it earlier during M2 year to supplement course work.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent resource
This is an excellent resource! If you are anything like me, First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 can get really boring really fast because of its mind-numbing format. USMLE Secrets, however, keeps me engaged. With First Aid, I found myself taking their word for granted and trying just to memorize their lists of facts, whether they were correct or not. With Secrets, I feel like I am getting a great overview of how the material is integrated and presented in a clinical way. This book is much more than case studies! ... Read More
