In that time, she experiences the "awakening" the title tells about--falls in love (not with her husband), leaves her home and family, and discovers her calling as an artist. On that level, the book works. But as an actual *story*, well, not so much. Frankly, I found Edna less than sympathetic, especially ... Read More In association with Amazon.com | |
