Product Description:

Come heck or high water, Gracie Snow is determined to drag the legendary ex-jock Bobby Tom Denton back home to Heaven, Texas, to begin shooting his first motion picture. Despite his dazzling good looks and killer charm, Bobby Tom has reservations about being a movie star -- and no plans to cooperate with a prim and bossy Ohio wallflower whom he can't get off his mind or out of his life. Instead, the hell-raising playboy decides to make her over from plain Jane to Texas wildcat.

But nothing's more dangerous than a wildcat with an angel's heart in a town too small for a bad boy to hide. And all hell breaks loose when two unforgettable people discover love, laughter, passion -- and a match that can only be made in Heaven.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Raucous and tender, all at once
Another of Ms. Phillips' best, this time in a somewhat bland setting the better to show off the colorfulness of her characters. The romance genre is often criticized, fairly or not, for pasting rote characters against exotic backgrounds, and Ms. Phillips is perhaps the best refutation of this stereotype. This book is the antithesis of that criticism, taking a small, dusty Texas town and populating it with colorful, funny, flawed and believable people who stand in bright and memorable relief against ... Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Lukewarm feelings, overall an OK story
A good read overall, but not very believable. If it's read in the context of entirely fantasy-fiction and you don't try to relate it to real life I think it's very humorous and enjoyable. To me though, Bobby Tom was hard to like, and Gracie just needed to grow a backbone. I really liked the secondary relationship with BT's mother, and I especially liked the Sawyer character.

I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone but that's just my personal preference. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Fun and light read
3 1/2 stars for me. SEP is always enjoyable for me on plane rides. That's when I want a light and fun book with good dialog. At first I did not think I was going to like Bobby Tom ( a retired football player for the Chicago Stars) and Gracie seemed too timid. But as the story developed both appealed more to me. Gracie really grew during the story and I like that about her character. Well worth the read.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Classic romantic comedy from Phillips!
Susan Elizabeth Phillips is the master of romantic comedy. If you liked the other Chicago Stars books (Match Me If You Can and Nobody's Baby But Mine) you will like this, too. We see her typical ego-centric gorgeous athlete hero coupled with a mousy heroine, who really is no mouse at all and knows just how to put him in his place. Their interaction is awkward, sexy, and at times hilarious.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Okay, but it didn't work for me
This is probably the lowest I have rated a book. This story didn't work for me. BT was hard to like and I had a hard time picturing Gracie as the heroine. The secondary romance was a little distracting. However, it was a cute story as a whole, It just didn't work for me, Especially the ending. This was my first SEP book and I hope the others are better. It did make me laugh a few times, the ice cream scene was hillarious. All in all, I wouldn't not reccommend it, but I wouldn't pay overnight shipping ... Read More
