Editorial Review: Product Description: A Chinese Qi Gong expert joins a bestselling writer to bring a powerful, ancient healing art to a Western audience. Trained at the most prestigious hospitals in China and at the mountain cave home of a Qi Gong master, Master Liu is the first person to fully integrate extensive apprenticeships in both Eastern and Western medicine. Now, with this ground-breaking book, he tells his extraordinary story, and shares the energizing, health-enhancing therapies that have been used in China for over three thousand years with near-miraculous results. ![]() Rating: - Fascinating journeyI might not have reviewed this book were it not for the exceptionally and, in my opinion, unjustly negative comments from "Two Bears". Yes, there are some inconsistencies in the text, but for anyone interested in the application of qigong and its place in healing the book is a worthwhile read. The major deficiency in the book is the lack of an index. Dr Liu links different aspects of healing: the use of qi by a therapist, qi gong exercises, herbal remedies and dietary advice, including ... Read More Rating: - A very helpful and inspirational bookI don't usually enter reviews, but feel that the exceptionally negative review by Two Bears needs at least a brief response. What I was most troubled by in that review was the irritability of the writer, which led to minute criticisms that entirely missed the thrust of the book. Some of the criticisms are intense reactions to what appear to be translation difficulties or to variations of interpretations within traditions. Others are overly strong reactions to common data, e.g., the use of ephedra, ... Read More Rating: - Fascinating ReadAn in-depth look at Master Hong's journey in becoming a Qi Gong Master. I have purchased and given away many copies of this book to friends as an introduction of what Qi Gong can do in the hands of a true master and how Qi Gong is so important in maintaining and keeping our health in harmony. Rating: - Change your life: Amazing stories and tutorial for healthIf you've never heard of Qi Gong, or are interested in learning more about Eastern medicine, definitely give this book a try. Qi Gong is a healing art which can be both applied externally by a master, or internally by yourself. Master Hong details the road he took as a doctor from the Western medical practices to become a master. He incorporates stories and examples of how Eastern and Western medicine can be combined for effective treatment of diseases and general health problems. Read More Rating: - The Healing Art of Qigong by Hong LiuThis book would be very good for a beginning to intermediate practitioner who would like to gain an introduction to the therapeutic effects of qigong. The surface information is adequate, gives an insight (nothing more) into qigong but it fails to motivate the knowledgeable practitioner who is looking for MD level insight. The honorable doctor, when talking about his master, mentions and impresses us with his somewhat skill but does not elaborate on the process of training, or give details of the environment ...
