Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Autoimmune disorders are not well understood and therefore difficult to treat. The result is that there are millions of Americans who are suffering because they aren't being diagnosed properly, or getting the correct medical treatment they need. Here, Dr. Edelson discusses the most common types of autoimmune diseases, including lupus, Chron's disease, thyroid disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic fatigue syndrome, outlining their symptoms, causes, and risk factors. He describes his own revolutionary program for treating the root of all autoimmune disorders-without drugs-providing readers with new hope for getting back on the road to better health.

Download Description:
"Toxins, which are all around us, are at the root of many auto-immune diseases. They lurk in our clothing, our furniture, and in the products we use every day. Our bodies make heroic efforts to eliminate the toxins, but sometimes the burden is just too much. Get the facts on: . Bottled water: Toxins from the plastic bottles can leak into the water. Use a water filter instead. . Plants: Did you know pollution-reducing plants, including mums and spider plants, can remove chemicals such as formaldehyde and benzene from the air? . Toxins in your home: Carpets, furniture, plastics, foam rub-ber, upholstery, tiles, linoleum, paint, and varnishes emit hazardous chemicals into the air. . Safe pest controls: Use boric acid and heat instead of toxic pesticides. . Radiation: Protect yourself from the dangers of microwaves, computers, cell phones, televisions, power lines, heating pads, electric blankets, and more."

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Just a BAD idea.
This book is literally dangerous. The author describes various people with serious, potentially LIFE-THREATENING illnesses and goes on to say how they were taken off all of their medication and miraculously *healed* with all sorts of non-FDA-approved and non-regulated nonsense herbs, supplements, and potions. It might sound like it offers hope to those that wish to stay away from modern medicine, but you know what? 50 years ago, you had five years to live (maybe) after a diagnosis of lupus - these ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great ideas when looking for drug-free options!
Having had autoimmune disorders for years, I was looking for options. While for some the drugs commonly prescribed for these disorders works, for me it did not. I was happy to see other options that are mentioned in the book that I can incorporate into my daily life. Not all of the options are for me, but neither is it for anyone with any protocol.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Same..same.. same
The "trick" to the "drug free" therapies for each category listed is basically the same, and people concerned about what they eat and personal health already know this stuff. Searching the internet for information on these disorders is more helpful than this book.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Alternative Treatments for Autoimmune Conditions
For me, this book was a more holistic supplement to Mary J. Shomon's book, Living Well with Autoimmune Disease. It is logically formatted and is an easy resource for the specific condition about which one wishes to learn. The plus is it offers medical treatment and counters with non-drug treatment options for autoimmune conditions. A glossary and an appendix add to its value as a resource.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent book
Don't let the previous review scare you. The quackwatch guys are the quacks themselves. Barrett, who heads up the quackwatch "research", is not a board certified doctor of anything and has been sued a bunch of times. The book itself is excellent and describes a treatment protocol that works. This protocol brought me back from near death when no local doctor could even figure out what was wrong with me. The protocol has also significantly helped our son who has autism. The "best" specialists told us there ... Read More
