Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Finally a Native American novel with respect.
Lakota Love Song is a simple story of love. It is about a young white woman whom is full of compassion and acceptance whom falls in love with an equally compassionate Lakota warrior. It is not a steamy sexy romance but modest and sweet, something pure and innocent that should grab every heart. Kay-Lee ( how Blue Hawk pronounces her name which adds to the believable line) is not a spoiled sassy girl nor does the two fuss and fight. Blue Hawk is not an arrogant warrior that shows his superior by forcing ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Just finished it last night!!
Great story, wonderful ending. I definitely consider this a Christian romance novel, because of how Kaylee's stepfather had a sudden change of heart. He may have been a bigot in the beginning but realizing how much he truly loved Kaylee's mother and what Blue Hawk did for him and his family and realizing who really was stealing his cattle, I just had to give this 5 stars. The book was off the hook.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beautiful Romance
I loved it. I loved hoe the heroine saved him and how the hero was so taken with her right from the beginning. It was definitely a great book.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent historical, good romance, depressing ending
This book stands out for me because of the incredible scene of the battle against Custer. Very well written and triumphant. Also, Baker makes good use of the Lakota language and stays true to many of their traditions. As a historical story, this book is very enthralling.
The romance is good, because of Blue Hawk's devotion to Kaylee. However, Kaylee gets annoying because she pushes Blue Hawk into dangerous situations, with only her own comfort in mind.
The end is very depressing. It is ... Read More
