The authors argue that states have been concerned with two sometimes conflicting goals: facilitating the flow of international commerce; and maintaining the prerogatives of state sovereignty. This analysis of the impact of the breaking up of cartels and of deregulation is an important contribution to theoretical debates in the study of international organizations and international political economy. ![]() Rating: - Important book for understanding international telecom orgsZacher and Sutton have gathered together all of the necessary ingredients for understanding international regime theory. I found the section on communications particularly important. My one suggestion would be to summarize some of the material into tables to make the interrelationships between institutions more understandable. Also, visual timelines would be a great addition. I highly recommend this text. In association with Amazon.com | |
