Todays Combat Medic must be an expert in emergency care, force health protection, limited primary care, and warrior skills. This handy pocket-sized reference features waterproof pages for making temporary or permanent notes. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Good for training line medics, but little utility for treatment medicsI bought this book prior to Iraq thinking that it would be useful for medic training. I found it was useful for line medic training, but did not have anything significant to contribute, in terms of Tactical Combat Casualty Care, required for treatment medics in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility. If you are a Battalion Surgeon looking for material to bring to Iraq, go ahead and skip this. Rating: - Its okayIm a green side Corpsman (combat medic for the Marines) and its a mediocre manual. The SOAP note sick call portion is definitely on weak side. You can tell its geared for Army medics because, it does not meet the standards of Navy medicine. Rating: - Full of valuable informationPurchased for my husband... He said it is full of valuable information, a must have for any combat medic's library. Rating: - Combat Medic Field ReferenceWell laid out. Has the information a 68W or other service medics/corpsmen will need after he/she leaves school. I wish I'd had this for my medics while I was in Iraq. Good reviews of trauma care and also a great section on sickcall complaints and basic treatments. Casey did a great job of putting this all together. Rating: - Perfect for the new Corpsman or medicI cannot recommend this enough as the 1st book any junior Corpsman/medic purchase. The material is well written and easy to understand. I have spent 7+ years with Marine infantry battalions and have to say this is the best reference out there for the new guy. A good book.
