Editorial Review:

Product Description:
This brand-new manual prepares candidates to pass the EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) basic exam and receive their license as a qualified technician. Emergency medical teams typically work from ambulances, and must be competent to provide initial care and basic life support at accident scenes and during transport to a hospital. Qualifications for this position vary on a regional basis, but EMT certification is nationally recognized. This manual provides an overview of EMT duties and responsibilities, plus review questions with answers and explanations. Separate chapters cover patient assessment, medical/behavioral emergencies, obstetrics/ gynecology, trauma, treating infants and children, and ambulance operation in emergencies. One full-length practice EMT Basic Exam, as administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation, is also presented with answers and explanations.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not Worth It
My husband and I found this text to be just about completely worthless as a study guide for the NREMT-B exam. Additionally, it's poorly edited.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - The book has WRONG info and isnt helpful
I was very dissapointed with this book. Some of the information in this book is just wrong. They couldn't spell Ilium correctly! The info is very lacking. And if you take the practice tests and ace them, you would probably think that you are ready for the exam. WRONG!!! You WILL Fail. This book was a waste of my time studying it, not to mention a waste of my money buying it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - awesome
i think this book was very helpful, and the other comments listed in this review section couldnt be more wrong. First of all it is a review guide, meaning it is meant to guide you in your review not walking you by the hand through it. Also several programs are now issuing this as standard text for a national program. Everyone that i know who has used it has passed the national exam and praises it. Plus it is the emt national not the medic its not that hard... if you cant pass maybe you should ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - A Poor Prep Book
This didn't help me prepare for the national exam at all. If I would have relied on this book for the weight of my studying, I would have surely failed. The sample tests were too simple, and the chapters were VERY brief. I do not recommend this book.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It works
I liked this book because it was a good and quick review, without a lot of extra information (I think it is meant for exam prep and not for full info like the other guy said)

I especially like that he explains everything in the answer key. Worked for me!
