This exam also serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, enabling the highest scoring test takers an opportunity to win one of several scholarships. This manual presents a diagnostic test and six full-length practice tests with all questions answered and explained. It also presents vocabulary-building word lists, and subject reviews with practice questions in critical reading, math reasoning, and writing skills. Added features include an overview of the PSAT/NMSQT, study advice, and test-taking tips. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Good practice, but frustrating....This thing seemed to have it all - practice questions, exams, vocab, tactics, etc. However, this book is WAY harder than any of the other books(including the official PSAT booklet that you get when you pay/register for your exam) and the actual PSAT exam. I got a 197 as my highest score out of the 3 tests I took so far out of this book. However, I also have a 2008 edition of 11 SAT/PSAT practice tests from princeton, and I got a 219 out of that book. ??????????? although some people might argue that ... Read More Rating: - Looks good, but really is a waste of a treeThis book is so much worse than the Princeton Review it's amazing. The typos are so bad that in the practice tests' answer sheets, the 2nd math section is missing the bubbles for the (e) answer choice! So I had to make my own little bubble while taking the tests. The tests also seem to be unbalanced. My score on them went way up from the diagnostic and then by the 6th test was back down to almost my original diagnostic score! Very VERY depressing. Until I picked up the princeton book and ... Read More Rating: - Too many errors, unrealistic.Okay, at first glance, this book looks great. 7 tests (one of which is a diagnostic), compared to the other new PSAT books' 2 or 3, and a giant vocab list, holy crap - MUST BUY, right? NO. This book has tons of errors, and yes, I am talking about the 12th edition released in 2004. I'm talking like ~2-6 completely wrong answers a test, and even more typos and wrong underlining, which is extremely frustrating, especially under timed conditions. It's the TWELFTH EDITION for christ's sake. ... Read More Rating: - Why Are the Reviews For the Wrong Book Here? All of these reviews are for the absolutely wrong edition of this book! This book came out only a few months ago in 2004, and these are 2003 and past reviews. Hello? Amazon.com is really slipping here. Rating: - Excellent Practice for the PSAT'sI agree somewhat with what other the reviewers said that "this book has too many errors," and it does have a lot of erros. However, I don't think that there is another PSAT book on the market that parralels all the things in this book. First of all, the writers went into great detail about all the question types and there were TONS of practice problems and a test to review each question type to diagnose your weak areas. Then there was a 1300 word vocabulary list and a succint PSAT high frequency word list. ... Read More In association with Amazon.com | |
