Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Even the brightest and most hard-working students aren’t expected to score a perfect 2400 on their SAT college entrance tests, but students who approach perfection with scores of 2100 or higher are virtually guaranteed acceptance at the country’s most prestigious colleges. The new edition of this popular guide for high-achieving college-bound students bypasses the standard test preparation drills and offers novel advice and innovative strategies for tackling the SAT’s hardest questions. The book presents Critical Reading strategies for both long and short passages, concentrated help for writing a near-perfect SAT essay, and extra coaching in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and math word problems. Students will also find difficult practice questions with explained answers in all SAT test areas, upper-level vocabulary lists, and useful math formulas.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pretty Good Book.
This book is great for any students who can already ace the basic questions. Thus, it focuses on difficult problems and gives you strategies to help you master the Level 4 and 5 questions. I haven't taken the SAT yet, but when I do, I will update my review. My used copy had some markings in the writing sections, but the math sections (the part I needed most) was pristine and untouched.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great book
Although I didn't get 2400, this book raised my score from 1950-1990 to 2050-2100.

The book has great tips for the CR part and for the writing part (I found the Math similar to the regular Barron's book)
It raised my CR score by 60 points and improved my essay score to a solid 10.

You can't use this book solely and you will need at least one of the SAT "normal level guides" for several reasons, for example this book has a poor vocabulary list and no practice tests. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Must Buy for the SAT
This is, in my opinion, the best preparation formula for the SAT:

-- The Official SAT Study Guide (for the most accurate practice tests)
-- Barron's SAT 2400 (for great strategies, practice problems, and a general review)

For extra help:

-- SAT prep book from Princeton Review, Barron's, Kaplan, or McGraw-Hill
-- The Official SAT Online Course ($75 on[...])

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Lookit, I Got a 2400
Never in a million years would I dream I would have gotten a 2400. But I did, and it was not at all due to this book. All the tips in this book were just glorified tips found in other less pretentious, unassuming books that did not tout "2400." Moreover, the vocabulary section, which is supposed to be super challenging, was questionably easy for me. The math as well. It was disappointing. After completing one section of each, I never touched it again. Also, the book promised college advice, ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Misleading title and an unhelpful book
All of the "strategies" in this book are what can be derived from common sense: Read carefully yet as quickly as possible, time yourself, don't get nervous, etc.
The book's examples were repetitive and unlike the actual SAT problems, and there were numerous typos and mistakes littered through the book.
This book was useless, and I regret buying it. If you are looking for SAT Prep, simply go with the official Blue Book; that's all you need.
