Revised and updated, this edition reflects the latest procedures and techniques in cardiac nursing. This book incorporates the nursing process and critical thinking strategies, while also providing a foundation for the contents based on theory, anatomy and physiology. The liberal use of figures, tables, and authoritative references, makes this the ideal text for graduate students and a reference for any nurse interested in cardiac nursing. The authors of Cardiac Nursing, Fourth Edition lay the groundwork for cardiovascular nursing in Part I by presenting the necessary information about cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Before the reader can fully comprehend the details of coronary heart disease it is essential to assimilate the information found in Part II, Physiologic and Pathophysiologic Response. Part III, covers the assessment of coronary heart disease and addresses many noninvasive and invasive testing procedures currently available. In Part IV, various disease states and treatments are fully explored. Finally, Part V provides valuable information regarding the latest concepts in health promotion and disease prevention. The straightforward style makes this an easily comprehensible text for both the experienced and novice nurse caring for patients who have, or are at risk for developing, cardiac disease. A Brandon-Hill Recommended Title. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Great condition!Book was like new. It is a very complex book. Not to be read by a new cardiac nurse, but someone with a few years of experience will appreciate its contents. Rating: - Cardiac NursingAlthough the research base of this book is second to none, it is at times extremely inaccessible. I would not recommend this book to someone unless they have an extensive cardiac knowledge. The cardiac anatomy and physiology section delves into areas that are completely irrelevant for nursing studies. I advise looking else where for your cardiac nursing primer!. Rating: - A Great tool for RNs, teletechs, MDsI like this books clarity and style.... very informative and practical. Rating: - Cardiac NursingGood quality book well protected. A little slow at delivery but worth the wait considering the savings made. Rating: - Must HaveThis is an absolute must have for any CCU or CVICU nurse - Extremely well written covers every aspect from disease process to medical management to surgical intervention. Great resource for the unit bookshelf or the new orientee. In association with Amazon.com | |
