Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Step-Up is designed as a single-volume, concise yet comprehensive review book for 2nd year medical students preparing for the USMLE Step 1. This Second Edition addresses the new format of the USMLE Step 1 by incorporating a systems-based orientation, clinical integration of content, and expanded clinical cases. The book presents information in different ways in order to suit different learning styles. It includes material in bulleted, "high-yield" form, comprehensive illustrations and tables, clinical case studies, and "Quick Hits," or clinical "pearls" in the margin.

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great with First Aid
This is a great supplement to FA. The Neuro section is particularly useful as it goes through concepts more in depth than does FA.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Step Up
This book is a perfect brief systems review for the visual learner. It hits the high points and has more tables that make comparing disorders easier than in the First Aid. It has great diagrams as well and isn't as all over the place as First Aid. But, it does lack some of the information in the First Aid, but you can add that stuff in anyway or get it fom Goljan...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A little bland
This is an adequate review book for students already familiar with basic concepts. However, I found that it lacked the high-yield hits or points of emphasis that would help one remember the most important aspects of a given subject. I suggest reading this book after First Aid.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - comparable to first-aid
I haven't taken Step I yet, but so far I have been using it along with my classes on system. It is very helpful. I love the charts!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Lots of High yield info
This book has a lot of useful info, probably more than 1st Aid, and the outline format organization is great to follow. So I think its best to either go with this book or 1st Aid. I recommend 1st Aid. It worked for me.
