The book covers inpatient and outpatient approaches, symptoms and diseases, and acute and chronic problems with the same front-lines practicality as the world-famous Washington Manual(R) of Medical Therapeutics. Sections cover evaluation of renal function; acute renal failure; glomerular diseases; kidney and systemic disease; nephrolithiasis; water, electrolyte and acid-base disorders; principles of dialytic therapy; and pharmacology and the kidney. Coverage includes a section on the appropriate conduct and approach of a medical consultant and reviews of selected clinical trials. The Washington Manual(R) Nephrology Subspecialty Consult is also available electronically for handheld computers. See PDA listing for details. The Washington Manual(R) is a registered mark belonging to Washington University in St. Louis to which international legal protection applies. The mark is used in this publication by LWW under license from Washington University. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Great for rapid reviewThis book was excellent for use during a one month consult rotation. It gave the basics, told you how to work up common consults, and explained some of the differentials. It summarized the topics well, but was not an in depth review. Use this for the immediate consult, then use some other source for reading up on the details of the diagnosis. In association with Amazon.com | |
