I found out that in order to digest the contents of this book you need some 'minimal' experience in Internal Medicine. Unfortunately in my first year this book was better than me. It did not include extensive paragraphs on pathogenesis and mechanisms of disease, because it is only a review, and it is supposed to give you the facts in brief. Read More Rating: - A great resourceIt is impossible not to pass the American Board (re)certification exam in internal medicine if you read (and digest) this concise book. Provided you have had a good 3-year training in a decent accredited internal medicine program. I would also recommend adding to this book a thorough review of the questions and answers from MKSAP (Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program)from the American College of Physicians.
