Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - An Honest Portrayal of Medicine as it is Practiced Today
I'm an ER doctor, and when I was reading this book, I felt like I was at work. Even so, I couldn't put it down. The pace is brisk, but the book is never superficial. A must read for anyone who is interested in the way illness affects our lives, and anyone considering a career in medicine or in nursing.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great book by a great writer
What a fantastic book. i hope to see more from this incredible author. He brings to life the colorful charectors of the ER -- from pschyo neighbors to the frat boys swallowing gold fish.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent collection of short stories
Thought provoking for both the doctor and non-doctor... wonderfully written. Frequently leaves you wanting more.
