Included are over 125 tested lessons and reproducible worksheets in two separately printed, self-contained volumes, each tailored to the developmental needs of students at a particular grade level, 4-6 or 7-12. For easy use, the lessons in each volume follow a uniform format, including titles, behavioral objective, and simple 8-step lesson plan. The lesson activities and worksheets are based on real-life situations and help build students' self-esteem, self-control, and respect for the rights of others. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - quick and easy!I love all of the ready to use social skill books. I am a school social worker for prek-8 school district, so as busy as I am, I love that these activities are right there with little preparation! My only complaint is that these books used to be spiral-bound which makes it easier to photocopy activities. They are not spiral-bound anymore, but either way great purchase for school social workers and counselors! Rating: - Good book for use with teachers. This book contains lesson formating and steps to follow when teaching. Some of the lessons would be better tailored for a small to medium sized group. Many of the lessons include a story to use to teach the students the social lesson. Rating: - not sure about carryoverthis is an old-time structured lesson set, with slogans and (I thnk) dumb activities and artwork. I don't find it very helpful, especially for individual work. I can't imagine it does much more than nominally meet some requirement for addressing social skills for a whole-class presentation. You get what you pay for. Rating: - impromptu lesson planning bonusThis book has easily accessible lesson plans that develops useful social skills. It also serves incredibly well for impromptu lesson plans which can be expanded in other creative ways. good also for an advisory or with students struggling in terms of behavior within the school system. Rating: - Ready-to-Use Social Skills Lessons & Activities for Grades 7-12I love this book; It really encourages creative thinking and is a must for group work with adolescents. I highly recommend it!!! In association with Amazon.com | |
