![]() Rating: - A really nice quick reference book. This book is really simple and easy to read. It has simplified everything tremendously, which works for me. This is a review book, so if you haven't learned the material previously don't expect to learn it from this book. First Aid is probably a must to have for Step 1 but it's way harder to read or use when you just remembered something and want to quickly check it. I'm using both First Aid and this, and I like them both. Rating: - A neat supplement for the Step 1!This book is neat and simple. It is a wonderful supplement in preparing for Step 1. Dr. Carl's notes in tabular/chart format is easy to read. Rating: - Don't buy it...USMLE questions test your ''deep, detailed'' knowledge, and the way you explicate knowledge, not your mnemonic heard a day or two before the test. So, buy comprehensive study material and know everything in detail. Usmle tet you logic, what you understand from tables and graphs, so memorized words won't help you, that is what this book does. It is for memorizing Hurler syndrome, the enzyme causing it, the nerve for wrist extension, but most of the questions test not words and names but your ability ... Read More Rating: - Easy to use, amazingly helpful!I used this book as part of my Step 1 studying and found it easy to use, well organized and great for self-testing with helpful chart formats. It's terrific for last minute reviewing and also for getting a good framework to organize the material as you learn it. The CD Rom is also fantastic, really helped me to solidify those "buzzword" associations. Thanks, Dr. Carl! Rating: - HORRIBLEDo NOT waste your money. First Aid is far superior. There are multiple mistakes in Ridiculously Simple that will have you wasting precious time cross-referencing. It also leaves out many of the more significant details about diseases, disorders, microbes, etc. Seriously, if you want to waste your money, you can send it to me. In association with Amazon.com | |
