Professional botanists often need several years in the field to master this terminology, and it presents a daunting obstacle to the student of botany. The meaning of most botanical terms, however, is immediately apparent when an illustration is available. That is the purpose of this volume. Plant Identification Terminology provides over nineteen hundred clear illustrations of terms used in plant identification keys and descriptions. It also includes definitions for more than twenty-seven hundred taxonomic terms. Average Rating:

Do you look for it in the leaf section? Root section? If there ... Read More Rating: - organization makes itThis book is a great reference tool, especially for the price. I am taking a plants class right now and it is helpful for identification. Additionally, I conduct wetland delineations in the summer, and it is helpful for those tough to identify plants, where if you only knew what a specific part was... A great reference for your library. Rating: - Very helpful, clear, and conciseThis book is extremely useful for looking up strange botanical terms. It has definitely come in handy in my Taxonomy of Flowering Plants class. I definitely recommend it. In association with Amazon.com | |
