Editorial Review: Product Description: This primer distills the essence of an important topic and presents it in plain language for leaders. Measuring Performance show how advanced measures are giving leaders new leverage to create change, manage performance, and produce better results. It covers developing the right measures, using metrics to improve performance, and key issues that arise in deploying metrics. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Time Better SpentIf you know nothing about performance management this is a good inexpensive way to get started. Simple, large letters, wide spacing and easy to read. But if you are even remotely equipped in the field: don't buy this book. All common sense and general topics...Not worth the trouble Rating: - Useless, Very common info. Nothing SpecialThere is absolutely nothing special about this book. Maybe for completely Beginner, it is useful, but really in professional world this book has no value whatsoever. Rating: - Get good, sound ideas, fast.Bob's "Measuring Performance" book is small, concise and offers good, sound ideas and principles for measuring performance. No, it doesn't offer step by step instructions or templates or examples, it's not that kind of book. It's the kind of book I'd give to someone just exploring performance measurement, or just doing their first review of their organisation's approach to performance measurement. For me it was a great reminder of the principles of good performance measurement. Rating: - Measuring Performance -- How valuable this book?I used this as an introduction to performance management and KPI's with a group of people not used to thinking about strategies. The response was very positive. This book is a quick read and provides the equivalent of the "one minute manager" overview. Rating: - Measurement as a Strategic Leadership ToolDr. Frost takes a strategic approach to performance measurement and squarely situates measures in the context of the business issues which necessitate them. Perhaps the most valuable take-away from the book is the concept of leverage wherein Dr. Frost shows that you can gain greater influence over future results by managing processes and capabilities. Should be compulsory reading for managers. In association with Amazon.com | |
