Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Despite Centers for Disease Control estimates that only 20,000 new Lyme disease infections occur each year, the true figure, as Harvard medical school researchers have found, nearly approaches 200,000. Symptoms run from mild lethargy to severe arthritis to incapacitating mental dysfunction. And despite medical pronouncements to the contrary, extensive research has found that tests for the disease are not very reliable and antibiotics are only partially effective; up to 35 percent of those infected will not respond to treatment or will relapse. The spirochetes that cause Lyme are stealth pathogens—they can hide within cells or alter their form so that antibiotics cannot affect them. Lyme disease is, in fact, a potent, emerging epidemic disease for which technological medicine is only partially effective.
Healing Lyme examines the leading, scientific research on Lyme infection, its tests and treatments, and outlines the most potent herbal medicines and supplements that offer help—either alone or in combination with antibiotics—for preventing and healing the disease. It is the essential guide to Lyme infection and its treatment.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Hope and Herbs
This is a very thorough book about treating Lyme with herbs. I have little knowledge of Herbs and less about medicine so it was not an easy read but it is written in a manner that makes it useful on many levels. There are boxed sections that provide a synopsis of the main text. A complete treatment protcol is listed in a basic and advanced method for specific symptoms.
It is guide to various Lyme related problems and herbs that have been used to treat them including dosage used and detailed ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - We have seen some of these herbal recommendations help patients
Healing Lyme is easily the best discussion of Lymes disease and Lymes treatment, which I have found. Desperation Medicine by Ritchie Shoemaker, is an easier read, since it contains numerous case histories, but the well researched discussions of volumes of peer reviewed scientific herbal treatment research make this book more useful for treatment of chronic Lymes disease. In reality, over ninety percent of Lymes Disease sufferers will not learn they have Lymes, within the first 30 days of infection, ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Fascinating-- a must-read
This was fascinating. I could not put it down. It is the most thorough explanation of Lyme. The remedies and preventions are almost completely herbal-based. This should be required reading for anyone in an area in which Lyme disease is a chance.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - To J. Philbot: No Prednisone!
Having read your review I grew alarmed. Yes it likely is that you do have a rare allergic reaction, but if you have Lyme, taking prednisone is the wrong way to deal with that, or with a reaction to a symptom from taking something that you are trying to treat your Lyme with. No one should take steroids internally if they have Lyme Disease, unless it's an emergency. Steroids suppress the immune system, which can be dangerous with an infectious disease.

I say this not because I can stop ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - excellent book!
Excellent book for those wanting to avoid or add to their antibiotics protocol. Very comprehensive. I can attest to the fact the herbs do in fact work.
