I originally bought "The Longevity Bible" for my girl (?) friend who had recently suffered a broken leg, followed by a mild heart attack. I had it delivered to my house, and decided I had better look it over before giving it to her. I couldn't put it down. It is the most complete book on gaining & maintaining one's mental & physical health I have ever read (and trust me, I've read plenty).

What a delight. I was expecting yet another book on diet and exercise. Dr. Small, however, gives balance with only one chapter on diet and one on fitness. His other six essentials are mental and lifestyle. As Dr. Small put it, "Fix your brain and the rest will follow."
