Questions match the content, complexity, and type of questions on the exam, and fifty clinical set problems--a major portion of the exam--are included. This edition's questions and answers have been completely updated, e.g., questions on hypertension and lipids draw on JNC-VII and ATP-III guidelines. Numerous new tables and charts provide relevant information in a concise, convenient manner. This book is also a valuable study aid for USMLE Step 3 and for physician assistant and nurse practitioner licensure exams. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - CautionI found myself looking up "wrong" answers and finding disagreements between this study guide and standard reference texts. I stopped using it early in Chapter 1 (I.M.). Rating: - Great cram tool!I am a 36 year old physician who used this book to help prepare for board recertification, and I can honestly say that using this book helped. It is very well divided into the different subjects and has a great sampling of questions that were consistent with the questions I saw on the exam. I not only passed but did very well on the exam! This is a very sound and solid investment! Rating: - good review for fp boardsThis provides a quick and easy way for doing a board review. Helped me a lot. Rating: - Family Medicine Certification ReviewOverall a solid book. It has a few errors, but these are usually a matter of a poorly worded question. The answers are usually brief and address only the question asked. They don't give much of an overview of the topic. These answers did stimulate me to look things up on my own which is good -- but also bad because the text's answers were not complete enough. This seems to be a straight forward do the questions and see the answers type book. In association with Amazon.com | |
