This really is the best reference for surgical residents. The new version has had some fairly significant changes. Modern laparoscopic techniques have been added, the trauma section revamped, new chapters added, and certain chapters fleshed out compared to the last edition. In addition, a few colour chapter have been added, but if you purchase the online version, you get access to the colour images posted on the website. It is updated every 3 years, and reflects advances in techniques, preoperative and postoperative evaluation, and clinical management decision making for all of the commonly encountered problems in general surgery.
