Product Description:
Today's world is all about Now--a fast-moving, high-speed, on-demand lifestyle. But has this pace changed how we study the Bible? Our relationship with God is a journey, a walk where we grow closer to Him each day. So it makes sense that reading and understanding Scripture is a continual experience, not just a moment. This innovative devotional is designed to change how you interact with God's Word. The Message Remix: Solo revolves around lectio divina, or "divine reading," an ancient approach to exploring Scripture updated for today's students. Each devotion delivers a unique, contemplative study that will encourage you to: Read Uncover biblical wisdom and revelations as you learn to read without the typical limitations that often cut Bible reading short. Think Immerse yourself in the passage as you place yourself in the story or meditate on words and phrases. Pray Connect with God through prayer and praise as you encounter new ways to communicate with him. Live Take some time for rest, introspection, or even activity as you discover how to take the Word with you throughout the day. Features include: o An introduction to the lectio divina style of study o A topical index for finding issues that impact your life o Numbered devotions so you can start any day of the year o A time of rest and reflection for every seventh day

So don't just read the Bible. Get engaged with God's Word and let it revolutionize your life.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - as an outsider
like bono said one time I consider myself one who would like to aspire to being called a christian, and Peterson here relates to me, even if it can still be a bit heavy heanded at times, much like i find in alot of churchianity. Somehow I find this better than message, i think because there doesn't seem to be of much of that bad accounting method of atonement (yes, i spent 20 years in dif denom's before i just accepted my "sinfulness") i really dunno.. I'm a yoga instructor now, and i find that this ... Read More

I love this book! It's called me to examine scripture more closely in language I can easily understand.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Best!
This is the best devotional I have ever used. It is very contemplative and simple. Eugene Peterson draws yu into the scripture like no other devotional. I recommend it without reservation.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Uncommonly Great Devotional
I am privileged to have experienced this daily devotional based on The Message translation of The Bible written by Eugene Peterson. There are selected passages for all 365 days of the year and I'm a quarter of the way through it so far and it truly is the best daily devotional I've ever read and experienced.

First off, I've never actually read The Message translation although I love the contemporary language. I'm looking forward to reading all of the translations throughout this year and ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best devotional my family has found
This Christmas, I found myself searching for a new devotional for our son, who is nearly a teenager. He has a very good teen devotional (Thrive), but it's shorter than most and he was ready for something different and daily.

My searching led me to Solo: The Uncommon Devotional. The book is designed for both adults and students, and neither will feel out of place. It is by Eugene Patterson and uses his Message Bible. When we gave it to him on Christmas morning, it was quickly clear that this ... Read More
