While testing brain-scanning equipment, he discovered a tumor the size of a walnut in his own brain. This is the moving story of how a researcher and scientist who believed only in conventional treatments was transformed into an integrative physician who realized the importance and power of the body's natural defenses against chronic disease. Dr. Servan-Schreiber's advice details how to find the right blend of traditional and alternative health care; how to develop a science-based anticancer diet (and the small changes that can make a big difference); the top ten household products to replace; understanding the effects of helplessness and "unhealed wounds" both physical and emotional, and how to regain balance; and how to reap the benefits of exercise, yoga, and meditation. Anticancer takes us on an inspiring personal journey and ultimately guides us to a new way of life. Unabridged on 7 CDs. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - A must read! This book is an absolute must read! For anyone who may have cancer and anyone wanting to live a healthier life to help increase the chance of NOT getting cancer. Once I started reading this book I had a hard time to put it down. Very interesting and enlightening. Rating: - Things you must know to avoid cancerThere are many different sources for information to keep you healthy but here it is all in one book. You can avoid cancer and be healthy while doing it Rating: - Excellent readInformative and eye-opening. A new way (to me, anyway) of looking at cancer from an empowering point of view, where one makes choices on how to deal with the disease (if you already have it), or how to avoid it for life. I have put in practice a few ideas of the book, and have given a copy to my mom and sister. Highly recommend the read. Rating: - HopeI've barely been able to say the word "cancer" aloud since my mother died when I was 14. One of my maternal aunts died 9 years later, and the other has had a malignancy removed. This is the first book about cancer that I've ever had the nerve to read cover-to-cover. In fact, I've re-read it several times in the week that I've owned it. This book is full of real, solid hope for those of us with cancer in our family line and even for those who are already fighting the disease. Rating: - Have bought a dozen or more copies so far...Last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with metastasis in the liver and lymphs. I was given several months to live. I've rewritten my prognosis and have stunned the doctors. I am their poster child for recovery... How did I do it? After enduring three major surgeries, two "near death" experiences, and over $600,000 in medical bills in one year, I have pondered this topic more than most... This is the missing link as far as I'm concerned. Modern oncology does ... Read More In association with Amazon.com | |
