Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Every year, millions of withdrawn little girls and chronically overwhelmed women go undiagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder because they don't fit the stereotypical profile: they’re not fast-talking, hyperactive, or inattentive, and they are not male. Sari Solden’s groundbreaking study reveals that ADD affects just as many women as men, and that the resulting depression, disorganization, anxiety, and underachievement are also symptoms of ADD. Newly revised and updated to reflect the latest clinical research, the book explores treatment and counseling options, and uses real-life case histories to examine the special challenges women with ADD and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) face, such as the shame of not fulfilling societal expectations. Included is a brand new chapter on friendship for women with ADHD. Three empowering steps — restructuring one's life, renegotiating relationships, and redefining self-image — help women take control of their lives and enjoy success on their own terms.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - U should buy this book!
I think this is one of the best books for women with Add. Most books are boring and technical or focus on children with ADD. This book is written for women who are often left behind in being diagnosed correctly or who want info for themselves. I kept this book and like to read it again now and then to get inspiration. Sari Solden is great at keeping it simple so everyone can understand the info presented. There are some lists to help you. I recommend this book to everyone.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - just what i needed
this is the first book i bought after being diagnosed with add at age 23. it was the perfect book to introduce me to the add world, it has great suggestions and was incredibly validating to what i had been feeling all of these years. a great starting point for any woman with add and i will probably read it again.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - She hits it right on the head.
While she gives a very comprehensive medical overview of ADD, she also writes with compassion and understanding. She gives voice to the thoughts that go on in the heads of women with ADD. Sari Solden also bring light to emotional consequences resulting from undiagnosed ADD. This book is easy to read and is a must for any women who is wondering if she has ADD, if a friend or family has ADD, or to understand the world of ADD or AD/HD.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent book for the recently diagnosed
Excellent book recommended by my therapist. Ms. Solden does a thorough job of covering all aspects of ADD/ADHD from a woman's point of view--from signs and symptoms to a holistic view of treatments. Her use of both client and personal stories go far to illustrate how this condition can affect so much of our lives, from childhood on up. She tends to dwell a bit too long on the need to gain some sort of peace with being an ADD/ADHD woman but other than that, this book is a valuable guide.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A eye opener and must read for any ADD or "disorganized" woman
Any excellent book that will help you discover the full extent, things you may not have realized, that can also be attributed to your ADD. It was an eye opener for me.
