This cookbook features comprehensive lists of foods lower, relatively high and highest in purines. Designed specifically for persons suffering from gout. "Quick Snack" and "Small Change, Big Difference" boxes are scattered throughout. Fourth Edition, Revised, July, 2004. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Don't botherThis product is NOT worth the price. The only thing of value is the list of high, medium and low pruine foods and this information can be obtained on the web. Rating: - Major error!I bought volume 1 and 2 to get a variety of recipes. In the purine content lists in the first book, coconut is listed as a "green" (acceptable) level of purines. The second book has coconuts under "red" (completely avoid at all costs) purine level. Both books are by the same author. How many other inconsistencies are there in these books, and how much danger is there to the gout patient? Rating: - Gout haters cookbookI bought this book for my son who suffers from gout. After following the suggested food plan his gout improved greatly. Rating: - great if you HAVE to use itthis book is very helpful for those unfortunate folks who cannot eat protein.. It's amazing the different recipes that are available and even though they all look totally disgusting and I will remain a happy carnivore.. my husband ( the gout boy) has maintained a "purine" free diet and is happy in his "vegetive" state... Rating: - It's About TimeThis book is wonderful. I am very limited to what food I can eat because of the gout. This book has some great recipes in it. Even my kids like the recipes. My gout is now under control with the help of foods that I can eat. Thank you. In association with Amazon.com | |
