From the supplier: The difficulty in accessing family firms for research purposes has given rise to qualititative and quantitative techniques for discriminating between family- and nonfamily-managed business enterprises. One such method involves extraction of information from the directory and conducting a telephone interview for verification purposes. Discriminant function classification and logistic regression analysis using firm size, firm age, firm strategy and internal control systems as the variables offer an alternative identification approach.
