From the supplier: The Polish writer Tadeusz Konwicki has experimented with various kinds of Romanticism in his works from 'Kalendarz i klepsydra' to 'Kronika wypadkow milosnych.' He started with traditional Romantic notions of the artist and art being above reality and evolved a style that demanded the reader to participate in the creative process. In doing so, he destroyed the distance between the creator and the reader and incorporated elements of popular Romanticism and folk traditions into his work. Konwicki's experiments raise questions about the nature of Western and Eastern Romanticism. Citation Details Title: Where the marshes are: Romantic mediumism in the novels of Tadeusz Konwicki.
