From the supplier: The Urban Institute (UI) has released a landmark report that examines the impact of illegal immigrants on the fiscal position of seven states: Arizona, New Jersey, Illinois, Florida, Texas, New York and California. The report shows that illegal immigrants paid far lower state and local taxes as compared to legal immigrants and local residents, mainly because they had lower incomes due to their relatively poor education and skill levels. The UI report also provides data on the impact of illegal immigrants on Medicaid costs, public-school enrollment and incarceration costs.
