From the supplier: Waterfowl nest parasitism, where eggs are bred in a conspecific nest, is common in both cavity and colony nesting birds. Observation of 132 Mottled Duck nests displayed apparent cases of nest parasitism. Egg color difference and incubation period variations showed eggs were laid by birds other than the host. An unusually high clutch size likewise indicated parasitic conditions.
