From the supplier: Sandwich molding process is used when combining polymers of different physical properties, with one usually serving as the skin polymer and the other, the core polymer. Injection of the polymers are done sequentially, that is, skin polymer first followed by the core. Lubrication approximations have become the basis to describe the flow of the two polymers in a thermomechanical model. Coextrusion flows are used to predict stationary interfaces.
