I usually only buy Meg Cabot books if they are at least 4 and 1/2 stars, but this one was one of my favorites of her books. I really liked all the characters and I thought the plot was well written. Usually her characters are easy enough to relate to, and she's pretty funny. But I think Meg Cabot has come to rely too much on the, "underappreciated-and-misunderstood-girl-falls-for-wrong-guy-but-finds-true-love-in-a-boy-she's-always-overlooked" plot.
