Books for Prep

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Note of Explanation from the Author
Several recent reviews on amazon have stated that Driven to Distraction is now out of date. Indeed, I have written a new book called Delivered from Distraction that was published in Jan. of 2005. It contains entirely new material and is thoroughly up to date. I hope the reviewers who chastised Driven will take a look at Delivered. I might also add that Driven to Distraction receives no marketing support whatsoever. Its sales are based entirely on word of mouth. And let me add my thanks to all you readers who have supported my work. I could not do it without you!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Change of Scenery
Reading this book was like climbing to the top of a ladder and finally being able to look over the proverbial fence that was too high your whole life. You might not have access to the other side yet, but at least you can see very clearly what is in front of you and beyond. It has helped me tremendously. I would highly recommend it to someone exploring the depths of ADD for themselves or their loved ones.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - This book was written in the Dark ages of Add
There is much new material available now that isn't in this book. This book is old and out of date, Sales are being driven by marketing and not by quality, or timeliness. I would sooner ride a horse to work than expect this book to be "cutting edge".

Try "THE ADD/ADHD ANSWER BOOK" by Susan AShley PhD. if you want to read a book that will really help you and your children!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - BUSTED
A great way to get insight into ADD regarding children or adults. A compact set of examples and reasoning for a better understanding. I would highly recommend this to someone or for someones friend, if they are not yet connected with thier own self discovery as a person who may have symptoms. Simply informative, not obviously directed at anyone in particular in its execution of information. Just be sure to order the cd or cassette. I ordered a cd version and received cassette-no worry, didn't affect it's usefullness.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - not recommended
I would not recommend this book as a good source to learn more about ADD or ADHD. Although it was somewhat interesting to read about the life experiences of others, it really did not offer useful coping skills. I also felt like it was geared more towards adults who had not recognized their problems until much later in life and the havoc undiagnosed ADD can cause in your life. Some of the other books I have read also give a few examples which are helpful in recognizing and understanding your child and their problems, but they also offer good coping skills for you and for your child.
