Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Nurse Anesthesia Pocket Guide
This is a handy little reference to keep available on your back table. It is very clear and concise with useful information. It is spiral bound with laminated pages so it's very hardy. Its indexed with tabs to make it easy to find specific area of content such as pharmacology, local anesthetics, pediatrics, cardiac, etc. I think it is a worthwhile product for all students to have.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - If Morgan/Mikhail is the bible, then this is the hymnal!
I am a student of nurse anesthesia and I have been looking far and wide for a portable, concise source of information that can accompany me to clinicals; I have finally found it in Lynn Macksey's Nurse Anesthesia Pocket Guide. I used to carry at least 5 books with me but now I only carry Macksey's guide and Morgan/Mikhail (and I'll take Macksey's peds guide too depending on my cases). Her guide is everything I wanted: concise, accurate, durable, easy to read and navigate, and small enough to slip into my pocket. It includes chapters on general information, airway, IV fluids/blood, pharmacology, OB, peds, local anesthetics, SAB and epidurals, blocks, CV, and pulmonary. I also have Ezekiel's Handbook of Anesthesiology but I don't even use it anymore now that I have Macksey's guide. Skyscape has this guide available for Palm OS too. It is exactly like the hardcopy, complete with all tables and pictures.

In short, this guide is a "MUST HAVE" for all anesthesia students and practitioners.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Efficient
This book is an excellent quick and easy guide to bring with you into the OR. Great for the anesthesia student, has information on everything from drugs and fluid replacement to pediatric, pulmonary, cardiovascular anesthesia, etc.... Very portable and durable with a plastic spiral ring binding. All pages are coated (spill resistant)and each section is tabbed for easy access. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it, as it is a very good value for the price. Keep in mind that this is a guide and not a mini text like Mass General. It should have concisely everything you need.
