Books for Prep

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!
This material in this book is out of date. It does not meet the new National Standard Guidelines, nor does it meet the new AHA. I contacted the publisher of this, and never received a reply from them.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Still a Valuable Book
This book still contains valuable information. It is true the ACLS is outdated but the rest of the book is excellent. The questions make you think. It also does a good job of making you choose basic interventions FIRST instead of going right to the advanced stuff. This was a pitfall of many medic students in my class. I found this book helpful when taking my registry exam. At $110 bucks for registry exam it is important to be successful on the first attempt! I was. Thanks

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Review Book
I purchased this review book the Saturday morning before I had to take the written exam on Monday at 5:00. I hadn't reviewed anything from class in almost 4 months and while I graduated with a 95 average, I almost failed the first exam I took from this book. I spent the rest of Saturday and most of the day Sunday doing every one of the questions in this entire book. I reviewed a bit on Monday and I ended up getting a 96 on the Florida written exam the first time I took it. There were so many questions from this book that were actually on the test it was shocking. I chose to rate this with 4 stars instead of 5 simply because the new ACLS protocols and CPR ratios are out of date, which is purely because of when the book was published. I highly recommend this to the person who put off studying for the exam and has a minimal amount of time to review. Good luck and happy studying!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I passed
I purchased a total of 3 books to assist me in preparing for the Illinois Paramedic Exam. The other two books were only ok. This book was the one I used extensively. The wording of the questions in the practice exams were "thought Provoking". It helped direct me to the areas where I needed to review and/or increase my knowledge. The only problem I saw with the book was that several questions were out of date. For example the CPR questions were based on old AHA guidelines. And a few questions referenced drugs that are no longer utilized in EMS for my area. Overall it was a great study guide and I would recommend it to future Paramedic Students.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - how to prepare for the EMT paramedic exam
the questions in this book are extremely helpful in studing. They are very close to the actual exam
