Books for Prep

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Save your money!
You may be tempted to buy this one because it is a little cheaper than the others. RESIST! I bought three books to prep for National Registry and this one was far and away the worst. There are multiple wrong answers with incorrect explanations. The protocols are all outdated and the new ones aren't included (mainly because this is an older book). Also the paper it is printed on is porous (highlighters will bleed), dark, cheap paper. Toss in a couple more dollars and get the Learning Express or EMT-P Self-Assessment books. You'll be glad you did.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not bad at all
Just took the writtem test. Some of the questions were right on. Alot of questions based off of a "paragragh" which is unlike the National Test. Over all good help in forcing you to think like a Basic and use your ABC's first. Not up to current AHA standards as most other guides aren't either so some answers no longer correct. This book ranks up there with the blue "Learning Express" guide.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not helpful any more
I took national registry on 4/06 and used this book to study, among others as well, and the test questions do not look anything like what was in this study guide. I also used the blue and green Learning Express books and found those more helpful than this. MAKE SURE you have airway down pat!! If you are going to fail an area on national registry, it is going to be that area. Hopefully this helps.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Thank You!
I went to a school that did not challenge me. I graduated with a 96% GPA and hardly opened a book. When I got this book and scored a 70% on one of the practice exam, I thought the book was ridiculous. When I took registry the first time and failed, my eyes were opened. This book helped me a lot and got me by on the second registry attempt. My school should have done a better job preparing me for registry but lucky for me, I bought this book. Thank you!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It Helped Me Pass
Good review book. It has questions that I always thought was "nice to know" information that I found out was "must know" information when I took registry. The questions are tricky with lots of terminology like registry. It helped me pass.
