- Too short, not enough detailI found this book to be short on the details and heavy on the basic science. There are better resources out there for surgery residents who want a serious review for their boards and ABSITE. Rating: - Steer clear of this mess!Tiny print, hard to read, incomplete, doesn't cover all major surgery topics, and is woefully inadequate for the ABSITE or the board exams. Rating: - Inaccurate!Questionable material and numerous inaccuracies. Contains way too much information not pertinent for today's surgical practice. Not recommended. Rating: - a great reviewThis and Rush make a good review before the Absite for the lower levels. It might be too simple for the advanced levels, but at least intern and R2 would benefit from this book. Was a very good review, just lacked a little detail on some things. (but had some very good high-yield points!) Rating: - Poor review with extraneous informationWhile this book may be a decent review of all of the basic science and clinical topics surrounding the field of surgery as a whole, it is not for the surgery intern or resident. Topics in basic science are too basic and not pertinent for the ABSITE or the surgery board examination. Clinical topics do not go into sufficient depth or breadth to be useful for the practice of surgery. NOT RECOMMENDED! In association with Amazon.com | |
