- Great HelpThis is a great book, it really helped our marriage. It was easy to follow and understand. I would suggest it to anyone who is having problems. For anyone wanting romantic ideas I would suggest Romeo's Playbook. It is a easy to follow guide just for men. Rating: - Improve it with your significant otherAuthor has a style of getting right down to the important point. That is definitely true of this book. Be prepared to think and work when you read this book. You'll need to think about your relationship and write about it and then think some more. This book is a wonderful starting point to a better relationship with your spouse. [...] Rating: - Very helpful and very practical adviceI really liked this book a lot--my husband and I have been together 11 years, and have a pretty good marriage overall. But since having a child we've lost a bit of the "us" that we used to have, and some negative feelings were building up between us. I love it that this book forced me to focus on MY issues--to look inwardly before sitting down to list all my complaints about my partner. By the time I got to the part of the book about him, I realized that I had spent way too much time trying to be "right" and harboring negative feelings that I used against him, us and myself (ultimately) that I was humbled enough to want to really try to get to understand him a little better. Just reading it was a wake up call--I am now starting to "own" my part of this relationship, and to love myself more--I am, in Dr. Phil's words, "blessed" that my husband wants to work on this too and is reading the book with me. He also feels very much like it's just what he needed. We are not the "self help" types and even within a week of reading and doing the exercises in the preliminary first chapters we've both noticed a huge difference--we have a peace and calmness about eachother that we haven't felt in years. I'm not a huge fan of Dr. Phil--I think a lot of what he espouses is obvious. But that's just what seems to be working for us, so here's a big thank you to Dr. Phil. Rating: - Recommended For Marriage RevivalAs a couple who has been married for over 17 years, every now and then even in the best of relationships, it's good to do thorough checkup. In our case, the 10 myths presented by Dr. Phil, helped us gain new clarity and insight to old or unproductive thinking in our marriage. It is a quick read, direct and worth the effort to apply in your day to day life. We highly recommend this book. Rating: - Relationship not working - this is for YOU!Excellent.
