Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - That's in My Gut?
This book is worth buying, (or perhaps not worth buying) based on the series of pictures taken by Dr. Jensen in the back of the book. Warning, these pictures are the most disgusting things you've seen. It is ropes of stuff that have been living in people's bodies causing them to get sick.

Dr. Jensen's book has inspired many people to do cleanses. Although the high colon cleanses he describes are intense, and maybe not the best for people who are very sick, the idea of cleansing the intestines through a natural fast has helped many people get healthier. If you want to try an effective bowel cleansing program, that you can set up at home to rapidly remove some caked on intestinal plaque, this book is for you.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Dr. Jensen's system worked.
My wife and I tried the system outlined in this book six years ago with great results. My health at the time was good, but my wife was battling an on going atopic allergic disease which resulted in large raised weeping patches of skin on her abdomen. These eczema like patches were up to ten by ten inches in size, extremely irritated and quite painful. Numerous tries at tradtional diagnosis and treatment with dermatologists brought some relief, but never a cure.

On the recommendation of a friend we bought Dr. Jensen's book, a colema kit, all the recommended vitamins and supplements and gave it a go. Not the most pleasant undertaking, but we had tremendous results. The skin disease my wife had been battling for nearly a year resolved and resolved completely. I just lost weight and felt really good.

Three years ago my adult daughter came down with similar symptoms. After she tried the traditional medical route for several months we finally convinced her to try Dr. Jensen's therapy. It worked and completely cleared her symptoms. Her physician was very surprised and actually a bit dumbfounded as to what had happened.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - yes, bowel cleansing does work
While I bought several of these books about 12 years ago, I never read the updated version. I can tell you I did do a shortened version of his colon cleanse (I didn't use every item he suggested). Not only did I relieve myself of many physical issues (back pain, dizziness, ab pain, sinus pressure), I lost about 12 lbs in a week. I was a fitness trainer at the time so I really wasn't in bad shape but if my body can still heal while in shape, it just tells you how bad we abuse our body even with "so called" health products on the market today. If you don't even do the cleansing, I recommend just to read, you should know information on healing the body internally. Great book, ahead of its time. Its an eye opener.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Dr. Jensen's Gude to Better Bowel Care
The main message in this book is colonics cures everything. No need to read the book as you just have to know that. Very repetitious. His basic health concepts are good. He has since passed from this earth and did not know that now we have herbs and tonics to clean the colon honoring the body while not putting anything foreign into the body or working against the flow of the body. I have had clients become quite sick from them and do not recommend colonics. Ordered some of his other books and hope that they are not about colonics as well.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - powerful tool for managing your health
This book is an authoritative reference on bowel care, written in a very convincing and captivating manner. It is not a book to just read, but to actually use and apply for improving your health. It explains very clearly how a colonic irrigation should be done (called "colema" here), which may entail some additonal expense for people who want to get started right away on the program (the colema board is the most important piece of hardware required, it costs around $250, but I found it is absolutely worth it, because it is so easy to clean and store; the supplements for the 7-day cleanse are more-or-less common, and they run another tens of dollars or so). Everything described in the book works exactly as advertised, a very stubborn eczema on my right hand cleared up almost completely after the 7-day cleanse, and yes, what comes out of you during the colema is extremely ugly and smells like death. I have used Dr. Jensen's program as the starting point in a more complex detoxification program in conjunction with saunas, because of some nasty symptoms that no doctor could explain or cure, and it has helped me tremendously, good luck to you, too, help is at hand.
