 - Not what I expectedI was hoping to improve my speed while taking GRE math section - I have no problem solving most of the problems, but I am so slow that I never get to finish 5 or more of them. My solutions involve a lot of calculations and I was hoping to learn shortcuts. Unfortunately the solutions offered in this book take even longer than my own! The only use I got out of it - saw a couple more types of problems that I did not encounter before. I wish the book had less 'EZ Solutions' watered down talk and more meat - problems with solutions that take you to the finish quickly. Perhaps this book will be very useful for someone who does not know much algebra but still needs to soldier through the test no matter how slowly. Rating:  - this is a math strategy bookI don't quite agree with the previous review. This book is exclusively for "Math Strategies," as the title suggests. This book is not a comprehensive review of math. It doesn't even contain much of geometry, so how can it be weak? You must look at the description given above for the content of this book. I needed to learn some trick for math so that i apply it on my test, and this book helped me do just that. So, if you want to learn math strategies for the GRE, then definitely buy this book, otherwise pass this one and buy something else. Rating:  - Great GRE Math Prep Book!, My major difficulty has been that I am not a very good test taker when it comes to standardized tests. I have been looking for a book that would truly cover all the math strategies that are required to do well on the GRE, unfortunately there are none, until I discovered this new title on Amazon. I was thrilled the moment I saw it and even more excited when I received it just within a couple of days. Only after a few days, I could see an improvement in my skills. Now I am able to do questions that I never could. This book is truly amazing. It explains each strategy in detail, then illustrates several examples, and also gives a practice exercise with detail explanations. This book lists so many strategies that I didn't even know existed. After reading this book, I feel much more positive and confident. Best of all, I actually enjoyed reading this book and it also helped me build-up my interest in math. I have been looking for a book like this for a long time and have bought several GRE books, including Kaplan, PR, but none of them have anything like this. I even took an actual prep course for hundreds of dollars and still didn't get anything much out of it. However, when I got this book, my prayers were answered. It's a new book by a new publisher but it's the best book for GRE Math. If you want to improve your GRE Quantitative score by learning some unique math strategies, this book would be your best investment. I definitely recommend this book to all GRE preppers without any reservation! page 1 of 1
