- 150 Practice ECGsDr. Taylor's ECG book is an extremely useful tool for learning to read and interpret ECGs. By the end of his book, I feel ready to read most any ECG. There is a large variety of tracings so the reader gets practice reading both simple tracings as well as the more challenging ones. Overall this is an excellent text for ECG interpretation and the clinical application. Rating: - Great book for clinically important 12 Lead InterpretationThis is a great book for a doctor (or medical student) who wants to get an understanding of how to analyze ECG's in a clinial setting; it is not designed for the technician who simply wants to learn rhythm interpretation. The first half of this books explains how to interpret the 12 lead ECG, and the second half of the book provides 150 practice ECG's. THis is an excellent book, but there are a few important points about this book that should be considered if you tink that this is the book for you: 1. This books discusses almost none of the basic science of the ECG as do many other ECG books. 2. Dr. Taylor also writes for an audience that knows some basic information about cardiac physiology, so he does not explain much of this either. 3. Many of the practice ECG's are pretty advanced. You have to distinguish in some of them between pericarditis and massive ST-elevation MI's (which look pretty similar on the ECG). 4. Much of this book is geared not simply toward ECG interpretation, but toward clinical decision making based on clinical history and ambiguous ECG findings. Overall an excellent book if one already knows aome cardiovascular physiology and wants to get an understanding of how to apply this to 12 ECG interpretation for the purpose of medical decision making. Rating: - I got an older book than the one displayed on AmazonI got a second-hand book. The picture displayed on your site was of a newer edition. I ended up keeping the book because I thought wouldbe useful for a test I was going to take. However, I was disapointed that I did not get the right product. Hey, Walmart also sell at equivalent prices or less. Next time, I will consider them or someplace else. By the way... The book wasn't useful at all. Gave a 2 stars just because there was one EKG that was good to look at. Your associated seller should be honest and not offer products that they don't have. Rating: - Great book if your ECG skills need a polishThis is a great book for anyone from an MS1 to currently practicing physicians. I am a board certified ER physician, and I found Dr Taylor's book extremely useful while also being a very easy to read/use text. But I also was amazed by how he presented something complicated in a concise and systematic manner that could be understood from the beginning by someone with only a basic cardiology background. Perhaps the only negative is that you probably should have another cardiology reference available for just a few times in the practice ECGs because he is occasionally sparse with his explanations. page 1 of 1
